About Us

The National Urban Coalition for Unity and Peace, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(3)(c) tax-exempt minority community based organization - in existence for over 20 years and based in East Point, Georgia.

Our comprehensive programs include youth initiatives and training; addressing at-risk children and families; providing community services to senior citizens; increasing public safety and awareness; working diligently to improve the skills and education of targeted inner-city populations; and creating a climate that provides a sense of togetherness among community residents.

We have a viable and results-oriented after school program that is designed to reinforce a young person’s sense of peace and safety. Activities are designed to allow children time to relax, develop socialization skills, and realize their impact in team building. Participants receive homework assistance, and provided with tips for successful test taking.

A Brief History

The National Urban Coalition for Unity Peace, Inc. (NUCUP), a community-based outreach organization, was founded by Minister James E. Lewis, Jr. in 1986, to address the challenges faced by youth in urban communities. NUCUP works in the communities it serves to enhance the family structure, as well as build self-esteem by providing life-enhancing skills as a preventive means to combat the various societal ills plaguing our nation.
